IQlink partner Ilkka Kakko as key presentor in IASP World Conference
in Barcelona
Mr Ilkka Kakko, Development Manager in netWork Oasis and Partner in
IQlink had an interesting presentation in IASP World Conference in Barcelona
in July. Almost 800 science park managers from 67 countries were listening
the speech "Homo Creativus - aspects of Creativity and Serendipity
Mangement". In his presentation Mr. Kakko focused on the challenges which
the science park world is facing in "the flat world". The hereby introduced
3GSP (3rd generation of science parks) model raised a lot of interest among
participants from all over the world.

IQlink joins IASP
IQlink became an associate member of International Association of
Science and Technology Parks. The IASP is the worldwide network that
connects Science Park professionals from 73 countries across the globe.
Membership has been issued to IQlink July 3, 2007 during the annual
conference of IASP in Barcelona, Spain.

IQlink makes successful visit to Moscow
IQlink has organized and participated a visit of delegation of Joensuu City
and Joensuu Science Park to Moscow. During intensive five days trip a few
important meetings with both local and federal level authorities as well as
leading academic institutions have been successfully conducted. The visit
has resulted a strengthened cooperation between Cities of Joensuu and Moscow
in the field of innovative development. IQlink will act as a main
contributor and coordinator of planned activities.

Russian Nano- & Mir technology for the Nordic market!
IQlink is continuing its Scandinavian marketing of Russian high tech. One project is Useful Suns
nanotechnology for conversion of harmful UV light into useful bio stimulating red light. The
other one is Logic points “toothless” gear/gearbox that first was used on the Russian space station
MIR. For this technology we think that we have found the application where Logic points
technology makes a positive difference to a big and growing world wide market.

IQlink Ky signs partnership agreement with Gradient Ltd.
IQlink Ky and Gradient Ltd from Moscow have signed in Joensuu strategic partnership agreement concerning collaboration in the field of technology park management and innovation business support in Russia. Via Gradient IQlink will get access to a significant market of consultancy services for Russian technology park network. Gradient in turn will benefit from IQlink's top level expertise in technology park management issues. Gradient is a spin-off from OOO Strategika, which is one of the largest consulting companies in Russia specializing in strategic development and innovation system development.

IQlink hosts the visit of delegation of Moscow City Government
Feb. 20-22, 2007 IQlink Ky hosted a visit to Finland of delegation of Moscow City Government including Mr. Andrei Ushakov, Deputy Director of Science and Industrial Policy Department, and Mr. Kemer Norkin, Advisor of Moscow City Mayor. Russian guests had visited netWork Oasis and Joensuu Science Park and met Mayor of Joensuu Juhani Merilainen, Director of Joensuu Region Development Company JOSEK Oy Keijo Mutanen as well as representatives of Helsinki City and Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. As a result of the visit a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Cities of Moscow and Joensuu concerning building close cooperation in technology and innovation area aiming transfer of knowledge and best practices of Finnish innovation system to Moscow. One of the main targets of future cooperation is building in Moscow first Russian 3rd Generation Science Park including netWork Oasis premises and Kick Start incubation program developed and sucessfully run by IQlink partner Evert Jonsson in Vasteras Teknikbyn in Sweden.

Evert Jonsson coaches Russian technology park managers in Moscow
IQlink's partner Evert Jonsson has been invited by OOO Strategika to coach managers of 7 leading Russian technology parks during two-days seminar in Moscow February 13-14. Financed by Ministry of Communication of Russia and organised by Strategika, training has focused on technology park management issues. Strategika is one of the largest consulting companies in Russia specializing in strategic development and innovation system development.

Esko Aho visits netWork Oasis
Esko Aho, President of the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, has visited netWork Oasis during Sitra's official presentation day in Joensuu Science Park Feb. 5th, 2007. According to Esko Aho netWork Oasis is a first truly open innovative environment settled in Finland in technology park premises. "This exciting project certainly deserves support and attention on a national level. I would be really interested to see how it developes and be updated about all the experiences in Oasis", said Esko Aho. netWork Oasis is a unique colaborative working and innovation environment launched in Joensuu Science Park in the beginning of 2007. It is an essential part of 3rd Generation Science Park concept developed by Ilkka Kakko, IQlink partner.

IQlink facilitates cooperation between Joensuu Science Park and Moscow City Administration
During Oct. 22-24 IQlink has hosted a visit of Prof. Pashchenko from Institute of Control Sciences of Russian Academy of Sciences. The purpose of visit of Prof. Pashchenko was to get aquainted with netWork Oasis concept developed in Joensuu Science Park and to start cooperation in technology transfer and regional development area between Joensuu and Moscow. As a result of the visit a meeting between Moscow City Administration and representatives of Joensuu City Administration, Joensuu Science Park and Regional Development Agency JOSEK will be arranged in November. IQlink is anticipated as a key contributor to this cooperation.
